Diesel engines

posted Oct 08, 2015 12:26:24 by Dylan
As you can see I live in Belgium (Europe). I know that in the US you guys are all petrolheads, no offense. I drive one myself ;-) But here in Belgium we have a huge amount of diesels. So I'm actually looking forward to some diagnostics on diesel engines. Grtz

Yeah, diesel never had the same kind of popularity here that it found in Europe, for whatever reason. Same thing with manual transmissions. Lots of drivers here don't have a clue when it comes to driving a stick, it's either auto or nothing.

I've already had a few encounters with the new DEF/SCR systems. I foresee a LOT of issues with these systems in the future...

Yes indeed same thing with manual transmissions :-)
I agree Tyler, there are a lot of issues to come with these systems.

If Yall need help with diesel I may be of some assistance, I'm a heavy diesel tech by trade. Just back from a few year hiatus but more than willing to pass some knowledge around!! I Work on semis but the theory of diesels and aftertreatment is pretty much the same.

Thx Chris. But as I mentioned you won't find many diesel cars in the US. So I guess most of the guys here aren't really interested in diesel technology...
