Ford p1409 ford escape v6 egr solenoid

Hello guys just to give you some info . This has been my 6 ford escape with the same code. Some advice egr solenoid should read 26 to 40 ohms tested the solenoid and it was perfect you will foun a white an red cable thats your 12v supply is the same to the idle and others aensor.problem was a violet cable thats the control wire! Hope this helps everyone all cases are different but this is my 3 case with the same cable

Forgot to say is the 47 pin on the ECU that goes from the solenoid harnnes directly to the ecu with no splice or anything in between

Nice find! I couldn't tell from the picture, did you find the wire broken inside the insulation? Wondering how many EGR solenoids this could have had thrown at it!

I remember there being lots of problems with Escape's and that section of the harness, where the loom goes through a tight bend on the way to the PCM. Do you suspect this had anything to do with the problem you found?

Yes it was inside the isulation! In the middle of the main harnnes to the ecu ! And yes at least 2 of them they have put new solenoids with out any success!
