Toyota vigo 1 kd fe engine

It's a desiel car,it has long injector nozzles controlled by a module called(driver injector)the car is misfiring on cylinder number 1 and 4.each injector has 2 wires.I checked injector pulse on one wire using my test light and it flashed.error code p0200.any ideal?

The P0200 is an injector circuit/open DTC.
Module is called EDU. So control side is ok? What's the resistance on all the injectors?

Thank u for the advice.the injector has 2 wires,koeo 1 wire has 0.5v but when cranking connector plugged in/unplugged 4 to 5 v using digital multimeter.the other wire has 0 v koeo but wen cranking 0.2 to 0.8 v.I tested using my test light battery negative and the 4 v wire.it's flash but doesnt flash on the other wire.the resistance of each injector is 1 ohms.

And does the edu control both wires for injector?I mean power and ground at the same time.

Wow, nice work Dylan! Full color diagrams, love it.

I had a glance at the diagram, and I see something in common between cylinders one and four:



If I had to take a shot in the dark, I'd say this EDU switches both power AND ground. I could theorize on how it's supposed to work, but I think the best suggestion I could make is to simply observe the #2 and #3 injectors and see how they work. This will give you a known good basis for diagnosing the #1 and #4 injectors.

Also, not sure if you're a Premium subscriber or not, but this Gas Direct Injection video goes into the power/ground control system used by Hyundai. May not be exactly the same system, but good information nonetheless.

Try this. I've found it to be very useful. Not sure how legal the site is though. I've never been game to try but I've been told if you try run the engine with an injector unplugged it'll burn the driver out similar to an ignition coil. Obviously never confirmed this.

We need a diesel book!! Haha. Just be aware you're not dealing with 12v systems. They run at up to 150V.

Thanks for the link Matt. These are Toyota original schematics.
I've unplugged many injectors on these engines while running. Never had any issue with a burnt driver or what so ever. These are not piezo injectors as used in later models. Which you may never disconnect while engine is running.

Just be aware you're not dealing with 12v systems. They run at up to 150V.

Well there you go, learn something every day. I heard at a training course the other day Toyota are trialling piezo injectors with a pressure sensor in each injector to enable better feedback values. Sounds interesting. I was just trying to add to the conversation with my link Dylan. Not sure if you took offence but none was meant my end.

I'm sorry I can't give a straight answer to your question Cyrus. If you have access to a scope surely you can make some sense of the signal to the good cylinders and compare that to a dead one.

Oh no not at all Matt! ;-) I was just telling cause I've worked on this engines before. Great to have your feedback on the piezo injectors.
Also I was referring to your link which contains OEM info and wiring diagrams. So good job. There's a lot of info in it and Cyrus can do some testing.

The problem solved!it's was shorted injector wires.touching one another in Hanes.Thank u for the help but still i don't know how to test injectors and edu.
