Vinegar ---

posted Jul 12, 2016 05:52:43 by AndyMacFadyen
Car in yesterday the guy wanted a new number plate light fitted to pass MOT inspection, he had trouble with in the past due to corrosion from water ingress causing bad connections. X-part dealer didn't have one available so I took the old unit out soaked it in white vinegar and salt solution for a couple of hours. The copper strips came up like new, a quick wash off with dilute solution of baking soda then a spray of contact lubricant job done :-)
